I, too, am getting very excited about next Saturday and Tom's Farms. My DH already has the day off, and I promised Katt that I would help at one of the tables. Seems like there are quite a few new faces around here. I would love to get the chance to meet some of you.
I want to thank everybody for their thoughts and prayers for my great-neice. I recieved a phone call at 3 this morning and they took her off the extra oxygen. They are still montering her, but it really looks like she is on the upswing. WHEW! I really dislike when the phone rings in the middle of the night. This time it was great news. THANK YOU ALL!!
I am heading up to Santa Maria, the Sunday after Thanksgiving, for a family reunion committee meeting. Our family is over 300 strong! That is a huge living family! I am hoping to stop in Solvang on our way home. I love that Dutch city, with the big wooden shoe and old red telephone booths! I haven't been to Santa Maria in a few years. I am trying to figure out the best way to travel. Any suggestions, would be appreciated.

Good Morning Rhonda and the Cali Crew!!
We finally made it to Friday!! I am so happy. I am going to rest this weekend and that is about it. I am still having issues with my back. I am working on getting my insurance good again. I am hoping to have that resolved within the next few days. I need to get to the dr and I need to get my son in too. He has ADD and has been off meds for a while and it wasn't an issue during the summer but now that he is back in school, he is having major problems. I need to get him some help. He is getting counceling but that is at church. I think that combined with meds will help him a lot.
Nothing planned this weekend for me. My 16 yr old daughter is going to a party with her youth group from church tomorrow and I am staying home relaxing. My son was going out trick or treating but he got into big trouble at school so he is on restriction right now. It was hard to take that away from him but I had to do something that would show him I mean business and he can't mess around when he should be working. It is tough being a single mom sometimes. I really need a break. The guy I was buying my car from is coming to tow it back down the hill today. It will not start and I am not paying for it or trying to dump more money into it. So, for the moment, I am still carless and walking. Good for exercise but hard on the bad back.

The heathens in the "hood" wouldn't leave us much house if we left it. We get a lot of kids coming for Halloween and the little ones are just so cute. But then those awful teenagers come to your door. They don't have costumes on and they just put their hands out and say give me candy. They are rude and obnoxious and unfortunately have no respect for anyone else's possessions. So we make it a point to stay home on Halloween. It's just not fair.
Sunday we are getting together with some people who want to pick Mike's legal brain and that pretty much sums up our weekend. Although I do plan on sleeping in on Sunday. That is one thing I promised myself to do for me this weekend.
Well time to get busy here. Hope you all have a great weekend. Make it a safe Halloween and be sure to remember to do something special for yourself.

Morning all! Rhonda - if you don't stay in bed and take care of yourself how are you supposed to get better and be ready for fun when I get there???? So, you'd better stay in bed.
I have a new sliding glass door in my house!! YaHoooo! It's too cool - white vinyl on the outside and wood on the inside. Joe and Justin got it in and square and then Joe finished framing it in and staining the wood, It looks so elegant. Today will bring a new floor in my kitchen YAY and this evening the bald man and I will be correcting my boo-boos from when I put up the wainscoating and chair rail. Nothing big, just correcting it and him teaching me the right way to do things,. I appreciate him teaching me.
This weekend brings Jayden and trick-or-treating, I have a bunch of candy I'm handing out (CHOCOLATE) and we'll get a bunch of kids as they truck them into our neighborhood,
I need a nap! We ended up going to Home Depot 6 times last night. Got the door, had to go back as the handles weren't in there, had to go back for longer screws (and picked up a screen door for 1/2 price) had to go back for stain, had to go back for darker stain then Joe had to go back a couple more times for other stuff. You'd think we'd start writing this stuff down! LOL
Off to my paperwork........... have fun everyone, take your vitamins and drink your water. Something I ate yesterday gave me very painful gas that kept getting worse and worse. Not sure what it was, but until I stomped on a bull-frog several times it wasn't going to get any better. Poor bull-frog - I stomped him to death last night! But, I sure feel better!

Rhonda you need to take care of yourself. Get plenty of rest and drink plenty of fluids. Not much on the agenda this weekend. My DH is going hunting on Sunday. He is taking our dentist and his son. They are going after chucker. There is always plenty for me to do around the house. I am going to a Halloween Party this afternoon. I will take my string cheese and protein water. I really enjoy handing out candy on Halloween. We get few people each year though. They used to bus the kids in every year but I think more and more people are going to churches and schools for festivals. We are really lucky because the teenagers are dressed up and they are really polite. I don't mind giving them candy when they are polite. If they weren't I would be like Stephanie. I always made my kids say thank you even when they were little or we would stop and go home. Of course I love the little kids. They are so cute. My grandson is going to be James from Thomas the tank engine and my granddaughter is going to be a ballerina. They only take the kids to a few houses of people they know. I got them special treats.

Well, in my opinion, both you and Gus are crazy for being up at 4am!! You guys beat the stupid Rooster that wakes us up every morning. And I don't live in the country :-( Dumb neighbor across the street thinks it's 'cool' to have fresh eggs every morning..but some of us like to Sleep in!!
Ok that's off my chest....and that is just a small indication of how HAPPY I am that it is FRIDAY! I am going to do what I have to do to the minimum and then I am claiming to be sick and go home early. I should probably stop at the thrift store on the way home...find me some nice pull over sweaters and a couple of long sleeve shirts...shopping always picks my spirits up ^_^ And how do any of you adjust to freezing now that you aren't carrying the insulation?? I am so tired of my hands and feet feeling like ice LOL My little heater in my office runs all day long!
gees...I sound like a grump today! I'm not really...just really ready for the weekend...and maybe catching up on my sleep. And not knowing what we can and can't do this weekend, (waiting on the RV repairman to bring a part for the stove) frustrates me...I'm really getting old...what ever happened to 'spontenaity'..dang!, I can't even spell it!! LOL
So, I'm outta here...totally clueless...but that only applies to today! ;-) Tomorrow I'll have a better handle on ME...or else I'm not getting out of bed!

Wow I have been away for almost 2 days and you are sick?? Oh but I know, you HAVE to go to work. BS, if you are so sick you need to stay home, that is an order. Also Michelle, Solvang is not dutch, it's Danish. Why do I know? We had exchange students living with us for over 5 years, and our very first one was Danish, then we got to go over and visit that marvlous county. This Feb will bring us to Finland for the wedding of another student we had over 20 years ago. Delores that picture of that costume, way too cute. We are not going home tomorrow so we don't do Halloween. It's ok, all the kids are alot bigger now that we have been in our house 15 years. All the kids are big now in the neighborhood, and we don't have the kids like we used to. When we lived in Lake Arrowhead, we used to dress up and we handed out candy to over 300 or more kids. People would drive to our area because we lived on one of the only areas that there were flat streets and not 10000000 stairs to the house. It was great fun, can you imagine coming to our front door and Dougie being dressed as a gorilla. He is already 6'5". well a little taller, he would stand in a door way, well if you are a tiny kid, he was giant to them....They got good candy bars if they got to our door and didn't go running down the driveway screaming. Awww the good old days, now we are just old.
Ok enough BS here, Rhonda you get well, let me know what the doctor says, Gus have a wonderful time tonight. Can't wait to meet up with the two of you next weekend, and everyone else. Been so long. Kirsten and Kevin, we are down here in the wine country, how about coming and visiting...like tomorrow. We can have up to 3 extra drink free...and of course I will drive, I just can't take my pain meds. This non drinker loves watching everyone enjoy themselves.
We are out of here, enjoy Friday and life, you only get to do this once.
